MOGADISHU, SOMALIA — August 11, 2026: Somalia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, H.E. Abdisalam Ali, held bilateral consultations on Tuesday with H.E. Einar Rystad, Norway’s Special Representative for Somalia.

The meeting focused on strengthening relations between Somalia and Norway and exploring opportunities to expand political and diplomatic cooperation between the two countries.

The two sides also discussed matters of mutual interest and exchanged views on ways to further deepen the longstanding partnership between Somalia and Norway.
Both officials reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and advancing cooperation in areas of shared interest.
The meeting comes as Somalia continues to strengthen its diplomatic partnerships with international partners and seek greater cooperation in support of its national priorities.
The consultations underscored the importance of continued political dialogue and close coordination between Mogadishu and Oslo on issues affecting Somalia and the wider region.
