The Supreme Court ordered the relevant electoral authorities to organize a new election after ruling that the earlier process did not comply with Somalia’s constitutional and electoral requirements. The decision has effectively reopened the electoral contest in Galmudug and requires the authorities to begin preparations for a fresh vote.
