DOLOW — The District Commissioner of Doolow has called for calm and peaceful dialogue as political tensions continue to emerge in parts of the region.

Speaking at a public gathering attended by a unit of the Jubaland Darawiish forces, the commissioner said security measures had been strengthened across Doolow and surrounding areas under the district’s administration.

He said maintaining peace and protecting civilians remain key priorities, warning that no individual or group would be allowed to create insecurity or disrupt public order in the town.

The commissioner also addressed the latest political developments, urging the parties involved to resolve their differences through dialogue rather than confrontation. He stressed that the interests and safety of local communities should remain at the center of any political or security decision.

“Every step taken at this time should be based on responsibility and restraint,” he said, according to remarks reported by local media.

The official further appealed to the people of Jubaland to maintain unity and peaceful coexistence, urging communities to avoid becoming caught up in political disputes between competing sides.

He also referred to Somalia’s federal constitutional system, saying that the Constitution defines the responsibilities and powers of the federal government and federal member states. He emphasized the importance of respecting the constitutional framework and using political and legal mechanisms to address disagreements.

The commissioner praised the role of Somalia’s national forces in contributing to security in the region and indicated that cooperation among security institutions remains important for maintaining stability.

He concluded by calling on anyone with political grievances to avoid seeking solutions through armed confrontation, instead encouraging dialogue, compromise and peaceful negotiations.

The remarks come as political and security tensions remain a sensitive issue in parts of Jubaland and southern Somalia, with local officials continuing to call for restraint and stability.
