MOGADISHU — An aircraft reportedly carrying weapons, military supplies, and troops allegedly linked to Speaker of Somalia’s House of the People, Sheikh Adan Mohamed Nur, widely known as Adan Madobe, took off from Aden Adde International Airport in Mogadishu, according to unverified reports.

The aircraft was reportedly heading to Baidoa, the administrative capital of South West State, amid ongoing political tensions between rival factions in the region.

Meanwhile, Ethiopian forces are reportedly monitoring developments in South West State. Other reports suggest that Ethiopian authorities have decided not to intervene directly in the dispute between the rival sides.

The reported flight comes amid heightened political uncertainty in the region, although the purpose of the alleged shipment and its connection to the ongoing dispute remain unclear.

The aircraft’s movement, cargo, and alleged destination have not been independently verified. No official statement has been issued regarding the reported flight or Ethiopia’s position.

Further clarification from Somali and Ethiopian authorities is needed to establish the details of the reported incident.
