DOHA, (HAN) — Qatar has announced it will host an emergency summit bringing together leaders of Arab and Islamic countries to discuss the fallout from the recent Israeli airstrikes on its territory.

According to Qatar’s state news agency, the high-level summit is scheduled for Sunday and Monday in Doha. The meeting will focus on the urgent situation created by the attacks and is expected to produce a unified Arab and Islamic response.
Qatari officials said the agenda will include both political and security measures aimed at defending the sovereignty of Qatar. “The summit will deliberate on a collective stance from Arab and Islamic states to confront this aggression,” one official stated.
Diplomats from member states of the Arab League and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) have already arrived in Doha, where intensive preparations are underway. Early reports indicate that the gathering will be attended by heads of state and senior leaders from across the Muslim world, making it one of the most significant summits in recent years.
Qatar, for its part, has stressed that the assault should not be viewed merely as a military act but as an attempt to destabilize the wider region. Officials said Doha remains committed to mobilizing regional and international support to safeguard its stability and independence.
The emergency summit is expected to send a strong political signal of solidarity with Qatar, while also testing the ability of Arab and Islamic nations to coordinate a collective response to a crisis that has heightened tensions in the Gulf and beyond.
