MOGADISHU, (HAN) – The Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Hamza Abdi Barre, today welcomed a high-level delegation from the Arab League, which arrived in Mogadishu to launch a major project aimed at supporting Somalia’s national education curriculum and promoting the development of the Arabic language.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Hamza expressed his deep appreciation to the Arab League for its continued support to Somalia in the fields of diplomacy, education, state-building, debt relief, and economic recovery. He emphasized that Somalia values the longstanding partnership with the Arab League and views this initiative as a critical step in strengthening Somalia’s educational system and preserving cultural and linguistic ties with the wider Arab world.

The visiting delegation was led by Mr. Zayd Al-Sabbaan, Director of the Horn of Africa and Sudan Department at the Arab League. In his remarks, Al-Sabbaan praised the Somali government’s progress in recent years, particularly in areas of governance, development, and reform. He highlighted the importance of deepening cooperation in politics, economics, and social development, noting that the Arab League remains committed to supporting Somalia’s stability and growth.
