MOGADISHU, (HAN) — The governments of Somalia and Azerbaijan have signed an agreement allowing holders of diplomatic passports from both nations to travel between the two countries without the need for a visa.

The new deal, announced this week, is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen bilateral relations and promote closer cooperation between the two nations. Under the agreement, diplomats and senior officials from Somalia and Azerbaijan will be able to travel freely without prior visa arrangements.

Officials from both governments described the move as a significant step toward enhancing diplomatic engagement, economic collaboration, and people-to-people exchanges.

Relations between Somalia and Azerbaijan have grown steadily over the past two years, with both countries expressing a shared interest in expanding cooperation in areas such as education, trade, and development.

The agreement reflects Somalia’s broader diplomatic efforts to build partnerships with international allies and improve its global presence.
