SANAAG — The Federal Government of Somalia has strongly condemned a brutal rape incident involving an 11-year-old girl in Xingalool, Sanaag region, on October 30, 2025.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Women and Human Rights Development, the government described the assault as “a horrific act against humanity” and “a grave violation of the rights of Somali children, who deserve safety and a life free from abuse.”
The ministry expressed appreciation to the Puntland administration and police authorities for their swift efforts in apprehending the suspects linked to the case. It also urged the judiciary to ensure that those responsible face justice without delay.
The statement further condemned other recent incidents of violence targeting Somali women and children in parts of Galmudug State, calling such acts “unacceptable and inhumane.”
The ministry reaffirmed its commitment to protecting the rights of women and children across Somalia and urged communities to stand united against gender-based violence and child abuse.
“The dignity and safety of our children and women must be protected by all means,” the statement said.
