The government said the support from these countries has played a critical role in strengthening Somalia’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and political stability, as well as in advancing peacebuilding, security reform, humanitarian assistance and development efforts across the country.

Somalia also acknowledged the backing of key international and regional organizations, including the United Nations, the African Union, the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), the Arab League, the European Union, the Gulf Cooperation Council, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the East African Community.

Officials said cooperation with these institutions has helped Somalia make progress in state-building, counterterrorism, humanitarian response and economic recovery after decades of conflict.

“The Federal Government of Somalia remains committed to deepening partnerships with friendly nations and international organizations based on mutual respect, shared interests and international law,” the statement said, adding that Somalia looks forward to continued collaboration to promote lasting peace, stability and prosperity in the Horn of Africa.
