ABU DHABI — Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in his capacity as Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department (ADJD), has issued a resolution establishing a specialized court dedicated to adjudicating human trafficking cases in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

The newly established court will have exclusive jurisdiction over all human trafficking-related cases arising within Abu Dhabi, creating a dedicated judicial framework aimed at improving the handling of such crimes and ensuring greater efficiency in legal proceedings.

Under the resolution, all existing courts currently reviewing human trafficking cases will be required to transfer those cases to the specialized court, except in situations where pleadings have already been completed. The measure is intended to ensure that human trafficking cases are addressed through a focused and specialized judicial process.

The establishment of the court reflects the UAE’s continued efforts to strengthen legal mechanisms for combating human trafficking, protecting victims, and enhancing enforcement against individuals involved in exploitation and related crimes.

The Abu Dhabi Judicial Department said the specialized court will contribute to improving judicial expertise, consistency in rulings, and the effective implementation of laws related to human trafficking.

Human trafficking remains a major international challenge, and countries across the region have increased efforts to develop specialized institutions, strengthen victim protection systems, and improve cooperation between law enforcement and judicial authorities.
