MOGADISHU – The Banaadir Regional Education Directorate has officially released the results of the 2024–2025 Grade 8 national examinations for primary and lower secondary schools.
According to the report presented today by the Directorate, a total of 41,076 students from schools across Banaadir region sat for the exams. The results are as follows:
• 38,263 students passed
• 2,813 students failed
• Pass rate: 93%
• Failure rate: 7%
Education officials hailed the results as a significant improvement compared to the previous academic year, noting that the high success rate reflects the combined efforts of teachers, parents, and students.
Speaking during the announcement, the Director of Education for Banaadir praised the dedication of educators and the determination of students, attributing the progress to increased collaboration and commitment across the education sector.
He also encouraged students who did not pass to take advantage of upcoming educational opportunities and to redouble their efforts to achieve better results in the future.
The Grade 8 examination marks a critical stage in Somalia’s education system, as it determines students’ eligibility to advance to secondary school.
