CAIRO – Egypt’s music scene is mourning the death of legendary composer and arranger Hany Shenouda, a pioneering figure who helped transform modern Arabic pop music. He was 83.
Shenouda, founder of the influential Egyptian band El Masryeen, established in 1977, became known for blending Western musical arrangements with traditional Egyptian melodies, creating a distinctive sound that shaped generations of Arab musicians.
