Erdogan, Mauritanian President Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Cooperation

ANKARA – Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan held a phone conversation with his Mauritanian counterpart Mohamed Ould Ghazouani, during which the two leaders discussed bilateral relations and regional developments.

According to a statement from the Turkish presidency, the leaders reviewed Türkiye–Mauritania relations and emphasized opportunities to deepen cooperation between the two countries.

They noted that ties between Ankara and Nouakchott could be significantly strengthened through concrete steps in several key sectors, including trade, agriculture, fisheries, security, and the defence industry.

President Erdogan highlighted the importance of expanding economic and strategic cooperation, while both sides expressed readiness to accelerate joint efforts in areas of mutual interest.

The two leaders also reaffirmed their commitment to continuing coordination on international platforms, stressing the importance of solidarity and closer diplomatic engagement in the coming period.

The call reflects ongoing efforts by both countries to expand their political and economic partnership and enhance cooperation in regional and global affairs.
