NEW YORK — Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has reaffirmed Turkey’s strong support for Somalia, saying Ankara remains committed to efforts aimed at strengthening the country’s security, development and state institutions.
Speaking during the United Nations General Assembly in New York, Erdoğan said Turkey fully supports international and national efforts to enhance the capacity of Somalia’s federal government institutions and help the country build stronger and more effective state structures.
The Turkish president emphasized the importance of strengthening Somalia’s government institutions as a key part of efforts to promote stability, security and sustainable development.
Erdoğan also highlighted Turkey’s continued solidarity with Somalia, stressing that Ankara stands firmly behind the Somali people and their efforts to strengthen national institutions and advance the country’s development.
Turkey has maintained close relations with Somalia for years, with cooperation covering areas including security, infrastructure, education, humanitarian assistance and economic development.
Erdoğan’s remarks reaffirm Turkey’s position as a major international partner of Somalia and underline Ankara’s continued support for efforts to strengthen Somalia’s state capacity, improve security and promote long-term development.
