ANKARA — Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Türkiye would continue supporting countries and communities affected by conflict, while reiterating his criticism of Zionism and Israel’s policies toward Palestinians.
“Türkiye is the hope of the oppressed. We extend a helping hand to many countries,” Erdogan said.
In the same remarks, Erdogan criticized what he described as “Zionists,” accusing them of using force to control territory and of considering themselves superior to others.
Erdogan said Türkiye would continue to speak out against what his government considers violations of Palestinian rights.
Türkiye has maintained a critical position toward Israel’s military operations in Gaza and has called for increased humanitarian assistance and a political resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
The Turkish government has also continued diplomatic efforts concerning Gaza and has called for an end to hostilities and the establishment of a Palestinian state based on a negotiated political settlement.
Erdogan’s comments come amid continued regional tensions over the Gaza conflict and wider disputes involving Israel and Palestinian groups.
