JIGJIGA — Leaders from Ethiopia, Djibouti, and Somalia gathered in the Somali Regional State capital of Jigjiga in a high-level meeting highlighting regional unity and cooperation in the Horn of Africa.

Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, Djibouti President Ismail Omar Guelleh, and Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud joined Somali Regional State President Mustafe Mohammed Omer in the symbolic gathering, where they were seen greeting crowds and presenting a message of solidarity.

Officials described the event as a demonstration of renewed political commitment to peace, stability, and economic integration across the region.

The leaders are expected to advance discussions on trade facilitation, infrastructure connectivity, energy cooperation, and joint approaches to regional security challenges, including cross-border threats.

The meeting reflects ongoing efforts by Horn of Africa states to deepen cooperation and promote long-term development through closer political and economic ties.

Analysts say such engagements are part of a broader regional push to strengthen integration in one of Africa’s most strategically important and volatile regions.
