Iran Warns U.S. Responsible for Ending War on All Fronts, Including Lebanon

TEHRAN — Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi told his Pakistani counterpart that the United States bears responsibility for ensuring an end to the conflict across all fronts, including Lebanon, and would be held accountable for any violations of the memorandum of understanding (MoU), according to an official Iranian statement reported by Reuters.

During the conversation, Araghchi stressed that the ceasefire agreement must be implemented comprehensively and that it covers all theaters of conflict in the region. He warned that any breach of the agreement in Lebanon would be viewed as a violation of the broader accord and could jeopardize ongoing efforts to secure lasting regional stability.

The Iranian foreign minister emphasized that Washington, as a key party involved in the negotiations and implementation of the agreement, has a responsibility to ensure that all sides adhere to their commitments. He added that maintaining the ceasefire and preventing further escalation are essential to preserving peace and security in the Middle East.

The remarks come amid heightened tensions surrounding the implementation of the U.S.-Iran agreement and growing concerns over hostilities involving Israel and Hezbollah along the Lebanon-Israel border. Regional and international actors have expressed fears that renewed violence could undermine diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing tensions across the region.

Iranian officials have repeatedly argued that ending the conflict in Lebanon is an integral part of any broader regional peace arrangement. Tehran maintains that a durable settlement cannot be achieved unless all fronts of the conflict are addressed simultaneously and all parties respect the terms of the agreement.

The statement reflects Iran’s continued insistence that the United States play a central role in guaranteeing compliance with the accord and preventing actions that could trigger a new cycle of violence in the region
