Both presidents also underscored the importance of joint efforts to promote peace and stability in the region, with particular focus on ongoing conflicts and political transitions in Sudan, Somalia, and South Sudan. They stressed the need for coordinated regional and international responses to address insecurity and humanitarian challenges.
On the sidelines of the discussions, President Ruto appealed for Egypt’s diplomatic backing for Kenyan Supreme Court Justice Njoki Ndung’u, who is seeking election as a judge at the International Criminal Court.
