PRETORIA — South African racist Nkosikhona Phakel’umthakathi Ndabandaba has raised alarm over what he describes as escalating intimidation, claiming that repeated death threats have left him fearing for his safety.
Ndabandaba said anonymous individuals have allegedly sent him threatening messages and warnings, forcing him to remain constantly vigilant while continuing his public activism.
The activist has called for greater attention to the threats, warning that intimidation against outspoken voices could weaken freedom of expression and civic participation. Authorities have not confirmed the allegations or identified those responsible.
The claims have renewed debate in South Africa over the protection of activists and other public figures facing threats linked to their advocacy and public statements.
