Nairobi — (Horn Africa News) — The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, arrived in Cairo on Sunday for an official working visit and was greeted with a warm and cordial welcome by senior Egyptian officials.

President Hassan Sheikh, accompanied by a high-level Somali delegation, was received at Cairo International Airport as part of efforts to bolster the long-standing ties between Somalia and Egypt. The visit underscores the historic relationship and shared interests of the two nations.

During his stay in Cairo, President Hassan Sheikh is scheduled to hold talks with the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, H.E. Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. The leaders will discuss ways to further strengthen bilateral relations, with a focus on security cooperation, economic development, education, and regional stability.

In brief remarks upon his arrival, President Hassan Sheikh expressed deep appreciation for the warm hospitality extended by the Egyptian government. He highlighted that the reception reflects the enduring friendship and brotherhood between the Somali and Egyptian peoples.

The visit is seen as part of broader diplomatic efforts to enhance Somalia’s partnerships in the region and promote mutual cooperation on key issues of common concern.
