Several Countries Issue Travel Advisories for South Africa Amid Security Concerns

JOHANNESBURG — Several countries, including Australia, the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, New Zealand, Germany, and France, have issued travel advisories warning citizens about security risks in South Africa.

The advisories cite concerns over violent crime, including armed robberies, scams, and attacks targeting tourists, particularly in major cities and around transport hubs.

Some governments have also warned of possible disruptions linked to anti-illegal immigration protests, including roadblocks, demonstrations, and transport interruptions.

South African authorities have not announced any nationwide restrictions but continue to urge residents and visitors to remain vigilant and follow local security guidance.
