Doha, (HAN) – President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud of the Federal Republic of Somalia arrived in Doha on Sunday evening to participate in the highly anticipated Arab-Islamic Summit, which will bring together leaders from Arab and Islamic countries to discuss regional cooperation, security, and economic development.

During the summit, President Mohamud is expected to engage in a series of bilateral meetings with fellow heads of state, focusing on strengthening diplomatic relations, promoting trade and investment, and addressing pressing regional challenges such as security threats, humanitarian issues, and political stability.

Somalia, which has faced ongoing security and political challenges, is expected to use the summit as an opportunity to highlight its efforts in national reconstruction, counter-terrorism, and regional collaboration.

Analysts suggest that President Mohamud’s participation could bolster Somalia’s diplomatic visibility and attract support for initiatives aimed at socio-economic development and peacebuilding.

The Arab-Islamic Summit, held in the Qatari capital, is seen as a platform for fostering unity among member states, promoting dialogue on critical regional issues, and coordinating collective action on matters of mutual interest, including conflict resolution, economic partnerships, and humanitarian assistance.
