The Federal Government of Somalia has extended its condolences to the Government and people of Uganda following the recent plane crash at Aden Adde International Airport, as the aircraft belonged to the Ugandan military.

The Federal Government of Somalia stated that the loss of the crew aboard the aircraft is a testament to their courage and steadfast commitment in supporting Somalia’s efforts to achieve lasting stability and development.
The Government also underscored its special recognition of the soldiers who gave their lives for peace, noting that they were part of the African Union Support and Stabilization Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM).
The crashed aircraft, a helicopter, had taken off from the military airfield in Ballidoogle. It was involved in a serious accident as it attempted to land at Aden Adde International Airport, resulting in significant damage, a major fire, and casualties among those on board this military flight.
