NAIROBI — Benadir University has confirmed its participation in a regional Capacity Building Training Programme on Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) – Cohort 7, held in Nairobi, Kenya, bringing together higher education professionals from across the region.

The university was represented by Abdullahi Adeid, Head of Student Engagement and Leadership Services, who took part in the programme designed to strengthen institutional quality systems in higher education.

The training focused on core areas including quality assurance frameworks, self-assessment methodologies, academic benchmarking, institutional evaluation tools, and continuous improvement mechanisms aimed at enhancing governance and service delivery in universities.

Following successful completion of the programme, Adeid was awarded the certification of Certified Quality Assurance Practitioner (CQAP), recognizing his competence in applying quality assurance principles to higher education management and student support services.
Organizers said the programme is part of broader regional efforts to harmonize quality standards across higher education institutions and improve accountability, academic performance, and student experience.
Benadir University said the certification reflects both personal achievement and institutional progress, noting that the university continues to invest in staff development to strengthen academic excellence, improve administrative systems, and enhance overall student services.
The university added that such capacity-building initiatives are essential for aligning its operations with international higher education standards and promoting a culture of continuous institutional improvement.
