TEHRANMasoud Pezeshkian said Iran remains open to dialogue with the United States and is willing to pursue a permanent peace agreement, while warning that continued pressure tactics risk undermining diplomatic efforts.

Speaking amid heightened tensions between Tehran and Washington, Pezeshkian described dialogue as the only viable path to resolving disputes and achieving lasting stability. He said Iran is prepared to engage constructively, but only on the basis of mutual respect.

However, the Iranian leader criticized what he called ongoing “blockades and threats” by the United States, arguing that such measures pose major obstacles to meaningful negotiations.

“Coercive policies only deepen mistrust and derail fragile diplomatic progress,” he said.

His remarks come as efforts to revive talks have stalled following recent ceasefire tensions and disagreements over key conditions, including U.S. military pressure and economic restrictions.

Analysts say the gap between diplomatic rhetoric and actions on the ground continues to complicate prospects for de-escalation, with both sides maintaining hardline positions despite signaling openness to negotiations.
