ABU DHABI — The United Arab Emirates on Saturday welcomed the framework agreement between Lebanon and Israel, describing it as a “positive development” that could help reduce tensions and support broader regional stability, according to an official statement.
The UAE praised the role of US mediation in facilitating the understanding, saying sustained diplomatic efforts are essential to preventing further escalation in a region marked by long-standing political and security disputes.
It stressed that dialogue remains the only viable path toward resolving complex conflicts in the Middle East and called for continued international engagement to build trust between the parties.
The Gulf state also reaffirmed its support for Lebanon’s sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity, urging that any arrangements reached under the framework should respect national institutions and contribute to strengthening state authority.
The statement added that the UAE views steps toward de-escalation as important for advancing peace, security and economic stability across the region, reiterating its broader commitment to diplomatic solutions and regional cooperation.
