MOKHA, YEMEN — Yemen’s armed forces have reported a new wave of attacks by Houthi fighters, involving ballistic missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) reportedly targeting areas near civilian neighborhoods in the coastal city of Mokha (Al-Mukha).
Yemeni air-defense forces also said they intercepted and destroyed several drones during the latest attacks, although independent details about the number of weapons involved and the extent of any damage remain limited.
The reported escalation comes amid continuing tensions between the Iran-aligned Houthi movement and forces aligned with Yemen’s internationally recognized government, which has received significant military and political support from Saudi Arabia and other regional partners.
