Nouakchott — The Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Mr. Ali Omar, has delivered a written message from Somalia’s President, H.E. Dr. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, to the President of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, H.E. Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani.

The meeting was attended by Mauritania’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Mauritanians Abroad, H.E. Dr. Mohamed Salem Ould Merzouk; Secretary-General of the Presidency, H.E. Dr. Moulaye Ould Mohamed Laghdaf; senior presidential advisers; and Somalia’s non-resident Ambassador to Mauritania, H.E. Mr. Yusuf Ahmed Hassan.
The message reaffirmed the strong brotherly ties between Somalia and Mauritania and highlighted Somalia’s commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation in key areas, including oil and gas, the blue economy, fisheries, security cooperation, and counterterrorism efforts.
The visit reflects the continued efforts by both countries to strengthen diplomatic relations and expand collaboration in areas of mutual interest.
