ISLAMABAD — Pakistan has warned that any renewed conflict between the United States and Iran would be harmful to regional stability and global security, saying escalation between the two countries is “in no one’s interest.”
Pakistan, which has previously played a diplomatic role in facilitating communication between Washington and Tehran, called for restraint and dialogue to prevent further tensions in the region.
A Pakistani government official said Islamabad believes disputes between the two sides should be addressed through diplomacy rather than confrontation, stressing that war or military escalation could have serious consequences for the Middle East and beyond.
Pakistan has maintained diplomatic relations with both the United States and Iran and has sought to encourage peaceful engagement amid repeated tensions over issues including Iran’s nuclear programme, sanctions, regional security and military activities.
The statement comes as concerns grow over the possibility of renewed clashes between Washington and Tehran, with regional countries warning that any escalation could affect energy markets, trade routes and security across the wider region.
Pakistan said it remains committed to supporting efforts that promote peace, stability and dialogue among all parties, emphasizing that a peaceful resolution would benefit both regional and international communities.
