Somalia Thanks Türkiye Ambassador for Strengthening Bilateral Relations

ANKARA — Somali Ambassador Fathudin Ali “Fathi Ospite” met with Türkiye’s Ambassador to Somalia, Alper Aktaş, in Ankara and expressed appreciation for his efforts in strengthening the longstanding partnership between Somalia and Türkiye.

During the meeting, Ambassador Ospite praised Ambassador Aktaş’s contribution to advancing bilateral cooperation during his tenure, highlighting progress made across key sectors including security, energy, education, health, and humanitarian assistance.

The Somali envoy thanked Ambassador Aktaş for his close cooperation, dedication, and commitment to deepening the relationship between the two countries, describing Somalia and Türkiye as brotherly nations with strong historical and strategic ties.

Ambassador Ospite noted that Türkiye has remained an important partner in Somalia’s development and stabilization efforts, with cooperation expanding in areas of mutual interest and benefiting both peoples.

As Ambassador Aktaş concludes his diplomatic assignment in Somalia, Ambassador Ospite wished him success in his new role and expressed confidence that the strong partnership between Somalia and Türkiye would continue to grow.

Türkiye and Somalia maintain close relations built on cooperation in development, security, humanitarian support, and economic partnership, with Ankara playing a significant role in supporting Somalia’s reconstruction and state-building efforts.
