Dhusamareb — Galmudug State President Ahmed Abdi Kariye “Qoor Qoor” has pledged to transform the region’s education system into a national model, vowing to improve access, quality, and support for schools across the state.

Speaking at a ceremony celebrating the completion of regional secondary school examinations, President Qoor Qoor reaffirmed his administration’s strong commitment to advancing education as a cornerstone for long-term development.

“I am committed to ensuring that Galmudug becomes the leading example for education in Somalia,” he declared, addressing an audience of educators, students, and senior government officials.

The president called on teachers and school administrators to redouble their efforts and assured them of full backing from the regional government. He emphasized that education is not only a priority but a vital pathway to stability and progress.

The remarks come amid ongoing efforts by the Galmudug administration to revitalize the education sector, which has long suffered due to insecurity, inadequate infrastructure, and limited public investment.

Educational observers say the president’s statement signals a shift toward long-term development goals in a region often overshadowed by conflict. Education advocates have welcomed the renewed focus, expressing hope that Galmudug can serve as a blueprint for educational reform across Somalia’s federal member states.
