Istanbul – Türkiye and Djibouti have signed a landmark military cooperation agreement aimed at strengthening defense ties between the two nations.

The agreement, titled Protocol on Military Cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Türkiye and the Government of the Republic of Djibouti, was officially signed on Wednesday during the 17th International Defense Industry Fair (IDEF) 2025 in Istanbul.

Turkish National Defense Minister Yasar Guler and Djiboutian Defense Minister Hassan Omar Mohamed signed the protocol, marking a new chapter in bilateral relations focused on regional security, military training, and defense technology exchange.

The six-day IDEF 2025 fair, which began Tuesday, is being held across multiple venues including the Istanbul Fair Center, Atatürk Airport, WOW Hotel, and Ataköy Marina. The event is organized by KFA Fairs and supported by Türkiye’s Defense Industries Secretariat (SSB) and the Turkish Armed Forces Foundation, with Anadolu Agency serving as its global communication partner.

This year’s edition has attracted international defense delegations, manufacturers, and experts, positioning Türkiye as a key hub in global defense diplomacy and industrial innovation.
