JUBA — The IGAD Special Envoy to South Sudan, Ambassador Moussa Djama, has met President Salva Kiir Mayardit in Juba for talks focused on the implementation of the Revitalised Peace Agreement and preparations for upcoming electoral processes.

According to IGAD, the discussions centered on efforts to sustain the peace process, strengthen political dialogue among stakeholders, and support the country’s transition toward democratic elections.

As a guarantor of the Revitalised Agreement on the Resolution of the Conflict in South Sudan, IGAD said it remains actively engaged in promoting dialogue, building confidence among parties, and supporting a peaceful and inclusive political transition that reflects the aspirations of the South Sudanese people.
The regional bloc continues to play a key mediating role in South Sudan’s peace process amid ongoing efforts to consolidate stability in the country.
