Malaysia Vows to Deport Any Israeli Citizens Found in Country, PM Says

KUALA LUMPUR — Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has said that any Israeli citizens found to be residing in Malaysia will be deported immediately, reaffirming the country’s longstanding policy of not recognizing Israel.

Speaking amid growing scrutiny over immigration controls, Anwar stated that Malaysian authorities are investigating allegations that some Israelis may have entered the country using passports from other nations through dual citizenship arrangements.

The Malaysian government has launched inquiries into the claims and pledged to take appropriate action if any violations of immigration regulations are confirmed.

Malaysia, which does not maintain diplomatic relations with Israel, has repeatedly expressed support for the Palestinian cause and has long restricted entry for Israeli passport holders. Officials said the country’s position remains unchanged and that individuals identified as Israeli citizens would not be permitted to remain in the country.

The latest remarks come as several Muslim-majority nations continue to review travel, immigration and security measures amid heightened tensions in the Middle East and the ongoing conflict in Gaza.

Authorities have not yet disclosed the number of individuals under investigation or whether any deportations have already taken place. The government said further details would be released once the inquiry is completed.
