CAIRO – Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi has declared that Egypt’s borders are a “red line,” reaffirming the country’s commitment to defending its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Speaking at the inauguration of Egypt’s new Strategic Command Headquarters, Sisi said Egypt would not accept any external pressure or interference, stressing that the country remains fully committed to safeguarding its independence and national security.

He emphasized that protecting Egypt’s borders is a core responsibility of the state, adding that the country will remain firm in the face of regional and external security challenges.

The new Strategic Command Headquarters, described as the largest military command center in the Middle East, is expected to enhance the Egyptian Armed Forces’ coordination, decision-making, and rapid response capabilities.

Officials say the facility integrates advanced command-and-control systems designed to strengthen military readiness and improve crisis management in an increasingly volatile regional environment.

The inauguration comes amid ongoing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East and broader concerns over regional stability, where Egypt continues to position itself as a key security actor.
