Somalia’s Non-Resident Ambassador Presents Credentials in Burkina Faso

OUAGADOUGOU — Somalia’s ambassador to South Sudan and non-resident ambassador to Burkina Faso, Jame Hassan Khalif, has presented his credentials to Burkina Faso’s head of state, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, during an official ceremony in the capital Ouagadougou.

Prior to meeting the president, the Somali envoy presented copies of his credentials to Burkina Faso’s Foreign Minister in accordance with established diplomatic protocol.

Following the formal ceremony, Khalif held a brief meeting with President Traoré, during which he conveyed greetings from Somalia’s President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and reaffirmed Somalia’s commitment to strengthening relations between the two countries.

According to Somali diplomatic sources, discussions focused on expanding bilateral cooperation and enhancing ties in areas including trade, security, and broader political engagement.

President Traoré welcomed the ambassador’s appointment and expressed Burkina Faso’s readiness to deepen cooperation with Somalia, particularly in areas of mutual interest.

The presentation of credentials marks part of Somalia’s broader effort to expand its diplomatic presence across Africa and strengthen engagement with partner states on the continent.
