MOSCOW / ANKARA — Russia and Turkey have both expressed support for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state, calling for renewed international efforts to advance a two-state solution amid ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
Russia said the creation of a Palestinian state is essential for long-term stability in the region, urging global powers to intensify diplomatic efforts to revive stalled peace negotiations and address the humanitarian situation.
The statement comes as international pressure grows for a political settlement to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, with Moscow repeatedly calling for a negotiated solution based on international law and UN resolutions.
Meanwhile, Turkey has also reaffirmed its support for Palestinian statehood, with officials in Ankara describing it as a core element of regional peace and justice. Turkey has consistently advocated for a two-state solution and has been outspoken on humanitarian concerns in Gaza and the wider Palestinian territories.
Both countries argue that lasting stability in the Middle East cannot be achieved without the establishment of a sovereign Palestinian state alongside Israel.
The renewed statements come amid heightened diplomatic activity, as several countries push for a ceasefire and renewed negotiations between Israeli and Palestinian authorities, while humanitarian agencies warn of worsening conditions on the ground.
Palestine remains at the center of international diplomacy, with divisions persisting among global powers over the timing, recognition, and framework of any future statehood arrangement.
