EL ALAMEIN — Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi hosted United Arab Emirates President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Sunday during a fraternal visit to Egypt, with the two leaders discussing ways to deepen bilateral cooperation and reviewing major regional and international developments, particularly those affecting the Middle East.
President Al-Sisi received Sheikh Mohamed at El Alamein Airport, welcoming him as “a dear guest in his second home, Egypt,” according to the Egyptian presidency. The Egyptian leader emphasized the special relationship between the two countries, describing the UAE-Egypt partnership as based on strong historical ties, mutual respect, and shared strategic interests.
Sheikh Mohamed thanked President Al-Sisi for the warm welcome, reaffirming the close relations between the leaderships and peoples of the UAE and Egypt. He highlighted the importance of maintaining cooperation and coordination between the two nations in addressing common challenges and advancing shared interests.
During their discussions, the two leaders reviewed the progress of cooperation between Egypt and the UAE in political, economic, investment, and development fields. They stressed the importance of expanding partnerships that contribute to economic growth and strengthen ties between the two countries.
The talks also covered a range of regional and international issues, with particular attention given to developments in the Middle East. Both leaders emphasized the need for continued consultation and coordination amid increasing regional challenges.
According to the Egyptian presidency, Al-Sisi and Sheikh Mohamed stressed the importance of joint efforts to support regional security, stability, and peaceful solutions to ongoing crises.
