MOGADISHU — Qatar Charity has launched 48 healthcare projects under its 2026 programme aimed at expanding access to medical services and supporting vulnerable communities across Somalia.

The initiative is expected to benefit approximately 50,000 people through a range of health interventions, including efforts to address malnutrition, restore vision through eye surgeries, provide treatment for heart patients, distribute essential medicines, and rehabilitate kidney dialysis centres.
The projects are designed to strengthen healthcare support in areas where medical services remain limited, helping patients receive treatment and improving access to essential healthcare facilities.
The launch ceremony was attended by Somalia’s State Minister for the Ministry of He alth and Human Services, Maryan Mohamed Hussein, Qatar Charity’s Country Director in Somalia Abdul Fatah Adam Moalim, and Qatar Charity’s Director of Global Development Operations Ibrahim Al-Janahi.
Officials highlighted the importance of partnerships between humanitarian organizations and Somali institutions in addressing healthcare challenges and improving medical services for communities in need.
Qatar Charity said the programme reflects its continued commitment to supporting Somalia’s humanitarian and development needs, particularly in healthcare, nutrition, and emergency medical assistance.
The projects are part of broader efforts to improve health outcomes in Somalia by providing treatment, medical supplies, and support for healthcare facilities serving vulnerable populations.
