ANKARA — Turkey has no reason to feel threatened by any actor and is prepared to respond if confronted, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said in an interview with CNN Türk, adding that Israel’s actions represent not only a regional concern but a global challenge.
Fidan said Turkey would not be intimidated by external pressure, stressing that the country maintains the capacity and readiness to respond to any threats directed against its security or interests.
Commenting on Israel, he said: “Israel is not just my problem; Israel is the world’s problem,” framing the issue as one with broader international implications beyond the Middle East.
His remarks come amid heightened regional tensions linked to the Gaza conflict and wider instability in the Middle East, where Ankara has repeatedly called for a ceasefire and increased international pressure to protect civilians.
Fidan’s comments reflect Turkey’s increasingly assertive diplomatic posture, as it continues to position itself as a key regional actor engaged in multiple geopolitical disputes.
